However, she didn’t expect to fall in love with one of Sylvan’s young dominate weres, Misha.Let me first reiterate that I love this series. With that said, I struggled, a bit, with the fact that Jody did not have a bigger part in this story. Since this is, most definitely, a war with the Viceregal of the vampires, I felt that Jody should have been a key figure, a liaison between wolves and vampires. However, she was not. In fact, I think she was in all of 5-pages in the whole book. I would have thought there would have been some kind of collaboration between Sylvan, Jody, and Michel. However, there was not.The love story between Katya and Michel continues to grow, which I’m glad to see. They make a good match and I would like to see where this story goes. I also like Misha a lot and think that Torren will be a good mate for her. I hope to see more of these two couples in future installments.I suppose I felt this story was not as complete as the others were. Sometimes, this is acceptable because the next book ties it all together and keeps the edge-of-your-seat entertainment. I’m hopeful for the next book!

The book tracks this ... as well as the blood bond between Michel (vampire senechal) and Katya (Wolf were), the budding love between Misha & the Fae (Torren) and the growth of pups born of the Alpha pair -- Drake & Sylvan.Again, raw sexuality, strong characterization, deep love and plentiful, intense action cover the span of this book. Really strong storyline in this continuation of the midnight hunters series. Only disappointing points: 1. Niki & Sophia still have not mated truly and 2. Demise still has not reached Dr Veronica Standish in retribution for her genocidal experiments on Weres & Humans. hopeful the next series will begin to close out these important developments to the series. well worth the read...
I loved this book. It is book 5 in the Hunt series and I've loved each of the previous books too. If you enjoy reading books in which the characters are werewolves, vampires and fae then you will thoroughly enjoy this series. It is full of danger, suspense, plot twists, and some of the most erotic sex scenes you'll ever read, but most of all this book is about characters who love each other so much that they will do anything to protect that love. I am now reading book 6 in this series and I'm enjoying every page turning minute of it! I highly recommend this series.
After five books, I really expected some subtle changes to this story. It disappointed me and I couldn't honestly finish it. I'm hoping I'll suck it up and finish it eventually. The lack of Becca and Jody Gates killed for me too since they were such great characters. The same for Lara and the cat-were; i'm 68% into it and it seems like they are going to be absent most of the book as well. I'm going to be weary about purchasing the next in the series if there is one.
For me this series is fascinating in the political undercurrent that started with the very first story and has maintained throughout. In The Magic Hunt many questions are finally answered while more pop up keeping the series fresh and engaging. In this installment the Fae are brought into the mix of politics and sides as Torren emerges from Francesca's dungeon and finds sanctuary with Sylvan's pack. The magic of the Fae is intimidating and confusing but is brought along with the help of Misha's character in determining alliances. I'm still enjoying this series and am looking forward to where L.L. Raand will take it next.
Magic Hunt begins tying up the loose end of the story so far. Who on who's side is starting to be more clear, Sylvia now knows her coalition her father wanted is impossible. She has to face off with Francine to get her one werewolf back. This is as exciting as all the others. I can't wait for the next in the series. I want to find out what happens to Sylvia Mir and Drake and Nickie and Sophie and Laura and her big Cat Raina, Jody and Becka and all the gang.
When you thought the midnight hunters series could not get any better, we'll guess what it did. I most say , Laura , Nicki and Michelle are my favorite in this series and I can not wait for the next book. Hopefully Sophia will play a big part at some point because she is related to the man behind the labs... Anyway I hope this book becomes a audio book soon, I own all the rest of this series and it would be fun to listen too. Keep them coming.....
L.L. Raand has put up another solid novel in this series. We again follow the pack as they fight for survival. This time they are getting closer to war but who is going to be on who's side. Members of the pack are still being kidnapped to be used in experiments to try to wipe them out. With outside help the pack may survive.
